How much to invest in marketing when launching a business (2026)

A realistic, phased framework for investing in brand, website, content and advertising when launching a business — with real price ranges from our studio in Sarajevo.

"How much does marketing cost?" is the question we hear most — and the least useful one. The real question is: how much do you need to invest for the business to start earning, and in what order?

Phase 1: Foundations (before launch)

ItemIndicative (KM)≈ EUR
Complete branding (logo, guidelines, identity)800 – 1,500410 – 770
Business website (5–8 pages)1,500 – 2,500770 – 1,280
Web shop / advanced sitefrom 3,000from 1,530

If you sell online, the web shop isn't a cost — it's your best store.

Phase 2: Content that builds trust

  • Brand or product video (900 – 1,500 KM) used for months.
  • Video podcast (from 790 KM per episode) for trust-driven categories.
  • Social media management (from 400 KM per month) — consistent, not occasional.

Phase 3: Advertising that brings customers

Keep two lines separate: the agency fee (e.g. a combined Google + Meta package at 500 – 700 KM a month) and the ad spend you pay the platforms directly. Plan at least three months of spend.

The most expensive mistake: a little of everything

A budget spread across five vendors that never talk to each other costs more than one plan executed by one team. With Herbisa we ran everything as one system — and ads now drive 200+ orders a month.

Why international companies work with a Sarajevo studio

Production, web development and campaign management at EU quality, in English, at a fraction of Western European agency rates — with a team that understands the Balkan market if you plan to enter it.
